Our accommodation in Valencia

We offer two types of accommodation in Valencia:

A home stay or shared apartments with other international students from the school.

In both cases, electricity, gas and water expenses are included. However, if you are planning to stay at a Student Residence, the school can assist you on which is the nearest one to our centre. If you are under legal age, you must stay with a home stay.

The main difference lies on the personal experience you wish to have. Staying with a host family is the best option if you are looking for direct contact with Spanish customs and culture and/or practice the language as much as possible.

Home stay or apartment?

The host families we work with have of our abiding trust and we have worked together for many years. We are sure you will feel welcome and comfortable, since the Spanish culture is very warm and hospitable. Also, the host families are friendly and open, but do not expect to speak English; most of the ladies do not know how to speak it! Often the homestay option is living with a single lady and other students. You have your single room, and you share the bathroom with the family members or other students. Please take in account that it is not allowed to cook at the homestay or to use the fridge.

Yet, for many, the experience of living in an apartment with other international students from the school is completely different.

You will have a single room in the home and you will share the common areas: kitchen, living room, and bathroom. You are responsible for keeping said areas clean and buying food/groceries. Also, you are in charge of buying the necessary cleaning products, toilet paper, washing-up liquid, etc., which you will all share.

We have learned from experience that students often build good relations with their fellow roommates, probably developing a long-lasting relationship, especially when it comes to long-term stays. Although they must take into account that, most of the time, the common language is English, since it is possible that your level of Spanish will not be the same.

If you are planning on a long-term stay in Valencia, a very good option is dividing your time between both options, for example, half your stay with a home stay and subsequently moving to an apartment when you have acquired a higher level of Spanish. Besides, if you wish to continue with the type of accommodation you have previously chosen, there would not be a problem.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR ACCOMMODATION

AIP mainly offers host family accommodation and shared student apartments in Valencia. Many international students choose host families for cultural immersion, while shared apartments are popular for independence and social life.

Yes. Many students arrange their own accommodation independently and book only the Spanish course. However, accommodation through AIP cannot usually be reserved without enrolling in a course.

Yes. Friends or family members studying at AIP can often request shared rooms, subject to availability. Shared-room options may also include accommodation discounts.

Yes. Minors are generally placed with host families because this option offers more supervision and support. Shared apartments may only be allowed in specific situations with family authorization.

Students staying in shared apartments must respect basic rules related to cleanliness, noise, and shared spaces. Adult students also sign a short-term accommodation agreement and leave a refundable deposit.

Most students use Valencia’s public transport system, bicycles, or walk depending on the accommodation location. Valencia is known for its affordable transport network and extensive bike lanes.

Many students prefer booking accommodation through AIP at the beginning because it is safer and easier than searching remotely. One of the main advantages is avoiding common rental scams sometimes found in online housing platforms.

AIP mainly offers shared apartments rather than fully private apartments. However, students still have their own private bedroom while sharing common spaces such as the kitchen and living room.

Accommodation can be requested during the Spanish course registration process. Students are encouraged to book early, especially during high season, to secure the best availability.
